Of course there are no living worms in this product due to the high temperatures that wood is exposed to during our kiln drying process. Learn more about Oak antique here.

Cut-to-size components
While manufacturing our square-edged lumber, we produce cut-to-size components. Upon request, we offer a wide range of dimensions in all our wood species.
Firewood
Natural energy from wood – sustainable and efficient.
Wood is one of the oldest and most natural energy sources for generating heat, preparing food, preserving food, and creating a sense of security. Wood from domestic forests with responsible forestry is both then and now a sustainable, protecting climate energy source.
The production of high-quality lumber generates so-called sawmill by-products. With full respect of nature and the long life of trees, we use all parts of our grown raw material.
Every Friday, we offer firewood at our sawmill from 1:00 PM – 3:30 PM in private sales.

Briquettes
During the sawing process, we collect the resulting wood shavings and press them into high-quality heating briquettes. Since our sawmill processes only dry hardwood, primarily oak, our briquettes have an especially high calorific value of 5.0 kWh/kg and a long burn time due to the high compression.
HIF Briquettes – vibrant flames and long-lasting embers!

- 100% oak wood briquettes without binders or other additives
- High calorific value 5.0 (KWH)
- Consistent and particularly long burning time
- For fireplaces, tiled and stone stoves
- CO2 neutral
- Barely any soot and ash
- From our own production and sustainable forestry

Firewood
Our firewood is created by further processing our dried oak lumber. With a residual moisture of only about 8-12%, it can provide cozy warmth in an environmentally friendly manner and with very good heating values, or be used in a wood or stone stove. We cut our logs to a length of approximately 15-30 cm, suitable for the usual stove sizes.

Log segments
In the first processing step, the logs are cut to length. Heavy defects such as check, splits or rotten parts are cutted off and are sold as fresh firewood. This fresh wood should be seasoned for about two years to fully develop its heating value. For optimal drying, it is recommended to split the green log sections into uniform billets and stack them in a well‑ventilated area. The result is visually appealing firewood with the strong heating performance of hard oak.

Wood chips – naturally versatile and sustainable
Wood chips are an environmentally friendly, regional raw material with many uses. At our sawmill, wood chips are a byproduct of the production of lumber. We chop the first cut of each log into small wood chips.

- Sustainable fuel: In wood chip boilers or biomass plants, wood chips provide efficient, CO₂-neutral heat.
- Garden & Landscape: As mulch or paving, they protect the soil, suppress weeds, and provide a natural look.
Wood chips combine sustainability, cost-effectiveness, and versatility—a smart choice for those who value natural and regional resources.

Sawdust

Fine and versatile in use
Wood chips are created in the daily work process of our sawmill at various stations. It is stored dry, then either pressed into wood briquettes, used in the company’s own power plant for heat generation, or offered freely for further use.

The fine sawdust is ideal for:
- Sustainable energy source for biomass and heating material
- Soil cover, mulch, or as a component of humus and substrate mixtures in horticulture and agriculture.
- Barnyard flooring in animal husbandry. The barnyard floors can be cleaned more easily and the shavings improve the barnyard climate.
- Natural filling and padding material in shipping containers.
- Raw material for chipboard
If you would like to use sawdust as a material, we would be happy to advise you on quality, moisture, fineness, and availability.
